It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus and the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, who are manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

A Sunshine Coast tradition, this event has been one of the most celebrated family orientated, community events on the Sunshine Coast calendar. Showcasing the early morning beauty and tranquility of Lake Kawana, participants of all ages and abilities are invited to enter.

In 2011 the ANZ Tour de Kawana Cystic Fibrosis Charity Cycle is expected to be bigger than ever. More riders, more fun and more action!

This year's event features a revised family friendly course and will once again be staged along the East Bank Foreshore of the scenic Lake Kawana. The start/finish line is located opposite the Kawana Aquatics Centre on Sportsman's Parade.

During and after the ride there will be an array of family fun activities for everyone to enjoy. There will be a sizzling BBQ, facepainting, balloons and much more!

Last minute bike repairs will be looked after by our friends at Revolution Cycling.

And there’s more!! There will be prizes for the "Best Decorated" bike and the "Best Fancy Dressed" rider.

These awards will be presented at the Presentation Ceremony beginning at 9:30am along with the prize draw for Club 200.

Hot 91 will be live from the event from 7:00am.

AcO2 connects the next generation of talented young Australian musicians with the stars of the AcO, creating a combined ensemble with a fresh, energetic performance style. The young musicians have all participated in the ACO's Emerging Artist program and many already play in the state symphony orchestras but choose to spend time experiencing the AcO's high-octane performance style. The best go on to tour nationally and internationally with the AcO and it is testament to the program's success that former AcO2 violinists Madeleine Boud and Rebecca Chan have been appointed core members of the AcO.

During ground-breaking achievements in 2010, not only were The TEN gaining new audiences all over the world but also some famous new friends, leading to an appearance on Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure and through the roaring success of the show The Power of Ten, they fused rock and classical music together, kicking and screaming; creating a sound that is uniquely theirs.

Relay for Life is a local community event designed to remember those lost to cancer, honour survivorship & create hope for the future.
All funds raised go towards cancer research, education programs on prevention & early detection & support services.
Cancer never sleeps, hence the reason Relay for Life is an overnight team event. Teams of 10-15 people take turns in walking or running relay style around a track for 18 hours while enjoying a carnival-style atmosphere & camping out. Each team member is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 in the lead-up to the event.
A non-stop entertainment program runs all night which includes live musical entertainment, movies & on-track games. Participants are encouraged to dress-up & make the event as sociable as they like. Small prizes for the best team theme, best campsite, best letterbox, best baton.
The Survivors Walk. These people are living proof that these vital funds really do make a difference. This symbolic lap of honour wearing a purple sash is part of the Relay for Life’s Opening Ceremony. If you are a survivor of cancer celebrate the journey by participating. Survivors are to arrive no later than 2.15pm to register for their symbolic lap starting at 3pm.

‘Classical Cupcakes 2’ Concert

The Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem have organized this concert to raise funds for the “Hear and Say” centre in Nambour, and as the name suggests will serve a second helping of a home-made afternoon tea of delicious cupcakes.
The SCCB will provide 2 hours of musical morsels that are known and loved!
Under the baton of Music Director Ken Chadwick OAM, this band of approximately 40 professional and amateur players will excel playing tunes by Rimsky Korsakov, Mascagni, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Grainger, Rossini, and Offenbach.

Of special appeal will be Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, featuring the superb playing of maestro Charlie Simm. Also, the Leroy Anderson "Bugler's Holiday", will be played at an incredibly fast pace by the Wynyard family of Todd, Angelique and their 14 year old son Josh.

Singers Bev Gourlay and Aart Schouten will add to the classical themes with songs such as “Bless this house” and “The Holy City”, as well as “My heart will go on” (Titanic theme) , “Stranger in Paradise” (from Kismet) and John Denver’s “Perhaps Love”.
This is an exciting programme, and should not be missed!

Since seats are limited, tickets for $15 can be pre-booked at 104.9 Sunshine Radio on 5450 1049, and collected at the door. If seats are still available, they will be $20 or $15 concession, at the door.

Note that the proceeds of this concert will be directed to the most worthy local cause of the “Hear and Say” centre.
