By Bob Heather and Roger Lamb, this is a traditional
English panto directed by Yvie Somerville and choreographed by Susan Dearnley. Mother Goose and her family become very rich, thanks to Candy the magic goose, but Mother Goose is old and ugly, and would give anything to become young and beautiful again. Vanity, the bad fairy, makes a pact with her to turn her ugliness into beauty in exchange for the magic goose. Mother Goose's silly son Billy, with the help of his sister Jill, her fiancι Jack, and Virtue, the fairy Queen, set out to get Candy back and put things right. All ends happily ever after in the best pantomime tradition.

Charlotte's Web is an award-winning children's play about a pig named Wilbur (Jennifer Rousset) who won’t be a sausage for anyone, and is saved from slaughter by an intelligent spider named Charlotte (Tracy Blair) who beautifully writes words in her web to impress Wilbur's owners. Hilarious portrayals of farm animals including Templeton The Rat (Kate Cullen) and the Old Old Sheep, (Peter Reynolds) lead to a fun filled hour for children age 4 to 12 and their parents. Charlotte’s Web is a story of friendship and love and is directed by Jennifer Rousset.

Queensland Air Museum

The Queensland Air Museum presents its collection of historic operational aircraft engines in a special display of aviation horsepower. The awesome sight and sound of a 1500 horsepower 14 cylinder radial engine powering up is an unforgettable experience and one that you wouldn’t want to miss. The museum’s operational engines and aircraft cover a range of engine designs dating from the 1940’s. Visitors are encouraged to inspect the engines between runs and talk to the volunteers who restored them.

The Engines and Aircraft

  • CAC Wirraway aircraft fitted with Pratt & Whitney R-1340, 9 cylinder radial engine.
  • Pratt & Whitney R-2000 from a Caribou aircraft, 14 cylinder radial engine, mounted on a purpose built test truck and fitted with a club propeller.
  • De Havilland Gipsy Queen from a Dove aircraft, 6 cylinder inline inverted engine.
  • Franklin 6V4C from a helicopter, 6 cylinder horizontally opposed vertical engine.

The Display

Each engine will be run a number of times throughout the day. The regular museum display of over 50 aircraft and aviation memorabilia is included in the entry fee. Please note: The actual engines and aircraft running on the day and subject to serviceability and may vary.

Catering

An all day BBQ sausage sizzle will be in operation with cold drinks, tea and coffee available for purchase.

This fun panto is set in the Chinese quarter of Nambour, where Aladdin lives with his mother Window Twanky and brother Wishee Washee and dreams of marrying the Emperor’s daughter! Cue the evil wizard, a magical lamp, a clever Genie and you have a fantastic post Christmas adventure! Directed by Catherine Steer.

Spend Australia Day, Thursday 26 January 2012, with your family at Aussie World. Australia Day at Aussie World attracts thousands of people looking for family fun. The day is filled with true blue events, entertainment and food suitable for the entire family.

Dunny Races:
At the Ettamogah Pub the fun and frivolity starts at 10am with a patriotic Australian flag raising ceremony followed by the singing of the national anthem. Then it's time for the Dunny's to start racing! The race is hotly contested with corporate teams taking part and the winners are presented with a toilet seat trophy that declares them Dunny Race Champions of the World!

Ettamogah Pub:
The Pub will be open from 9am, Bluey's Bar & Grill from 11am and live music throughout the afternoon.

This free public event at Kings Beach will be bursting at the seams with live entertainment, workshops, activities and market stalls expressing the national diversity that has become an important part of the Australian national character.
