It spans a thousand years in Europe and the Middle East from the Dark Ages to the High Middle Ages, from AD 600 to 1600. There is something for all ages at the Tournament. The breath-taking pageantry of the Joust; the courage and skill of knights in armed combats; a new and spectacular Grand Parade with over 500 re-enactors parading from the castle; a Masque Ball, educational talks and exotic food. Thu 28 July Mary Duff Sunshine Coast Function Centre 19 West Tce Caloundra Seated Show. Ages 18+ Mary Duff's
phenomenal talent as a singer, together with the great stage presence and charisma she possesses, is testimony of her quietly powerful and captivating persona. There is a genuine warmth about this lady that touches all who come
into contact with her, and she enjoys a dedicated, very supportive fan following. Mary is seen in the music business as an accomplished, polished, and highly respected professional performer.
Mary first got the chance to showcase her talent at just 12 years of age when, quite by chance, her father heard her singing on a home tape
recorder, and recognised she had quite a talent. Having his own band at that time, he invited Mary to sing with them at the weekends.
Once Mary finished school she took up office work in her home county, Meath, in Ireland. It was whilst still working in an office, that she
auditioned and successfully got the job as vocalist with a band called Jukebox. She then gave up office work and remained with Jukebox for about 3 years.
It was when Mary entered and won the Sunday World nationwide talent competition in Ireland, that she really made her mark. At that time she
met Sean Reilly who was to become her manager. It was soon after that Mary was signed to Ritz Records, since which time she has achieved much success with her albums. She also auditioned for, and was offered, the special guest
slot on Daniel O'Donnell's first UK concert tour. Such was the success that today Mary still remains Daniel's special guest.
Mary has numerous music awards to her name including 'Best Female Vocalist' from the British Country Music Awards and 'Best
Female Solo Artist' from the Annual Irish World Awards. As well as the many music awards, in 1990 Mary was also named Meath Person of the Year, a much prized accolade received from her home county.
Mary is married to Paul McKenna who is now her manager, and who splits his time between running their own business, the Newtown Country
Club, and being on the road with Mary for her own concert tours.
As Mary's success continues to take her from strength to strength, she is surely destined to achieve even further success.
