Fri 5 Oct Sahara Beck Cafe Envy Unplugged 3/26 Brisbane Rd Mooloolaba Dinner & Show $30 To book Ph: 5477 6737
A Generation Z Troubadour - Sahara Beck is a blend of smoky vocals, melodious hooks and sweetly fun guitar licks. The girl with the curls is forever wearing her heart on her sleeve. Hailing from
Queensland’s musical hot spot - the Sunshine Coast - Sahara Beck has achieved a lot for a 16 year-old singer/songwriter. Her creative, catchy originals songs are a well-balanced mix of innocence and mischief, with her quirky
demeanour and ability to weave stories of love wanted, found and lost from different perspectives easily attracts a crowd. It’s not just in the music, but in the way she interprets her songs, as well as more obscure covers
thrown in for good measure, that Sahara can keep the crowd glued to her every note. Where most girls her age would be listening to the latest Chart-toppers or Indie stars, Sahara drops in a Don MacLean or Louis Prima cover ever so
casually. THAT is what makes her unique.
In 2011, Sahara released her first full-length album, Volume One€¯, which features nine original tracks with a full-live band. The album was widely well-received, and Sahara is currently back in the studio
recording the follow up release.
One of her latest songs "You Could Be Happy" won her a Queensland Music Award in August 2012.
She has gained airplay on national broadcaster Triple J,Triple J Unearthed, ABC Coast FM, HOT 91.1 and several overseas radio station (New York, UK, Germany).
Sahara’s musical growth and maturity
are reflected in the new tracks, and it seems her musical-momentum is in full swing, having just been announced on the line-up for the 2012 Caloundra Music Festival (which includes artists such as John Butler Trio, Living End as well
as some of her local contemporaries).
Sahara Beck has graced the stage at the Noosa Long Weekend, the popular SolBar, The J, Peregian Originals, Joes Waterhole and many more venues on the Sunshine Coast. And she
has performed more recently around Brisbane at the Hideaway, Ric's Bar and is due to make her debut performance at the popular Powerhouse in New Farm and the Judith Wright Centre at Fortitude Valley.

(PSA) concert for this year is on October 7th, at 2pm, and will feature an impressive list of performers. The photo shows Colin Butcher in his role of Master of Ceremonies at the Chorale's recent Music Hall. However, since

Fri 26 Oct 2012 Day for Daniel Australia Wide Our National Day of Action Keeping Children Safe You are invited to join with us in a day
which focuses on Child Safety Awareness.
Now in its 8th year, Day for Daniel continues to grow on a National scale and is recognised as Australia’s largest participation event of its type.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established in 2005 by Denise and Bruce Morcombe following the tragic abduction and suspected murder of their 13 year old son Daniel in December 2003.
To promote the Foundation’s aims of making the world a safer place for our children, an annual awareness Day for Daniel is held, involving schools and local communities. In 2012 up to 500,000
school aged children are expected to participate on a local level.
A variety of activities are suggested and these range from: a talk about internet safety in class, a presentation by a school-based police
officer completing an interactive educational program like Being Safety Smart€¯ watching our DVD titled Foundation Red or participate in a Community Walk. These education activities are designed to provide
life skills for children in a fun and informative manner without the fear factor.
We encourage that a red flavour be incorporated in the day - a colour which links Daniel’s story in a discreet way to the importance of Child Safety Education.
Day for Daniel is not a memorial day - it is a learning day for our Children.
So write in RED, draw & colour-in in RED, wear RED, display a RED ribbon, fly a RED balloon, eat RED food, have a RED morning tea & yes, you can drink RED cordial today!
Please support this initiative. Find out more & download the PDF poster at: www.danielmorcombe.com.au
